SATD and Airbnb have signed a memorandum of support for the post-war recovery of Ukraine's tourism industry

The State Tourism Development Agency and the American company Airbnb will collaborate to promote Ukraine as a tourist-friendly destination worldwide. The relevant Memorandum was signed during a meeting between the Head of the State Tourism Development Agency of Ukraine, Mariana Oleskiv, and the Co-founder and Director of Strategic Development of Airbnb, Nathan Blecharczyk, at the General Consulate of Ukraine in Munich, Germany.

The Head of the State Tourism Development Agency expressed gratitude to Airbnb representatives for their unprecedented support of Ukraine in its struggle for independence. "Airbnb's initiative to provide free temporary accommodation to over 100,000 refugees from Ukraine at the start of the full-scale invasion was a significant support for us. After our victory, we want to express our gratitude and demonstrate our hospitality by inviting the world that has stood by Ukraine all this time. The document signed today will officially confirm our intentions to jointly restore the tourism industry in our country."

The document envisages joint marketing activities to promote Ukraine's tourism potential, including online publications and the dissemination of promotional photo and video content of tourist attractions in our country, including Crimea after its de-occupation. Another priority area of cooperation will be the exchange of analytical and statistical information. Airbnb Co-founder and Director of Strategic Development, Nathan Blecharczyk, noted that, despite the current unlikelihood of tourism in Ukraine, it is essential to define the course for post-war recovery of the industry. "With this memorandum, we agree to support tourism in Ukraine after the war ends. This collaboration is a significant sign for our global community," emphasized Mr. Blecharczyk.

As a reference, since the start of the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, Airbnb.org has helped find free and temporary housing for over 130,000 Ukrainians. The accommodations were funded by Airbnb, Inc. and other Airbnb.org donors, as well as by hosts who offered housing for free or at a significant discount to Ukrainian citizens
