This article may surprise people who associate the term "museum" with historical monuments covered in dust, waiting for curious eyes. However, we should not forget that we are already in the 21st century, which keeps delighting us with innovations that were unheard of just a few years ago.
One of such innovations is the Terebovlia Museum-Workshop. It's not hard to guess that it's located in the city of Terebovlia in the Ternopil region. We can tell you a lot about the history of this museum, the stages of its creation, but for now, let's take a short tour to get a better understanding of what makes this "repository of ancient artifacts" special. Undoubtedly, this museum breaks all the stereotypes we're familiar with.
What's this museum in a tree?First and foremost, we want to highlight the unique exhibition that simulates a tree, running from the museum's foundation to its roof. There are specially designated areas near the tree for presentations of various artistic exhibitions.
For us, it has become customary that in a museum, touching, handling, or interacting with exhibits in any way is strictly prohibited. Such conditions almost make it impossible for families to visit such places. Of course, it's impossible to change the situation entirely, as it would lose the essence of a museum. Instead, the museum's management has introduced a wide range of masterclasses: decorative painting on porcelain dishes, painting Easter eggs, wood burning, printing images on wood, and crafting using a potter's wheel. For those with a sweet tooth, there's excellent news – the list of services also includes honey and beekeeping product tastings. As you can understand, there's no reason to feel bored here.
And last but not least, the digitization of exhibits. You can learn about a bifacial projectile point, a mushroom-shaped bronze fibula, or clay tiles not only from a tour guide but also by scanning QR codes located near glass showcases. Additionally, audio tours are available not only in Ukrainian but also in English and Polish languages, allowing guests from other countries to explore the history of our region.
Of course, the Museum-Workshop does not plan to stop at its current projects, just as we on our part will continue to promote interesting places in Ukraine.
